Job Description
Join Happen Bank's Second Line Compliance Department as a Senior Compliance Advisory Manager - Lending. In this role, you will provide compliance advisory oversight across Happen Bank's Personal Lending products, assess regulatory risks, develop risk mitigation strategies, and partner with senior management on strategic priorities. You will also develop and maintain lending compliance policies, provide guidance to business partners, and collaborate with Compliance Testing and Monitoring teams. This position offers a hybrid work model, generous paid time off, and various health and wellness benefits.
- Identifying, assessing, and managing compliance risk across the full product lifecycle of personal lending products.
- Partnering closely with business and risk leaders to strengthen the Bank’s compliance risk management framework, including related policies, procedures, and controls.
- Developing and maintaining lending compliance policies, standards, and other documented requirements, and partnering with business leaders to translate those requirements into effective procedures, systems, and controls.
- Bachelor's degree or higher, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to navigate complex, ambiguous compliance issues and apply sound judgment
- 6+ years of experience in banking or financial services, primarily within compliance, risk management, or audit
- Experience working in fast-paced, dynamic environments and delivering high-quality results across competing priorities, aggressive timelines, and evolving requirements
- Direct experience in lending compliance with a focus on consumer credit, including working knowledge of ECOA, UDAAP, TILA, FCRA, MLA/SCRA, TCPA, GLBA, EFTA, ESIGN, and applicable state laws
- You take ownership of your work, drive initiatives through resolution, and proactively communicate risks, progress, and issues along the way
- Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to build effective partnerships and drive decisions across business and risk teams
- You have hands-on experience using AI tools to accelerate your work and improve output quality. You’re equally comfortable using them yourself and showing colleagues how, while staying thoughtful about data sensitivity, accuracy, limitations, and where human judgment matters most
- You adapt quickly to shifting priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail, quality, and regulatory requirements
- Time Zone Requirements: Local hours (PT, MT, ET)
- While the position will primarily work local hours, Happen Bank is headquartered in Pacific Time and our ideal candidate will be flexible working across time zones when necessary
- Travel Requirements: As needed travel to Happen Bank offices and/or other locations, as needed
- Experience supporting regulatory examinations and compliance audits, including developing, tracking, and executing corrective actions
- Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) or similar professional certification
