Job Description

Join Salesforce as a Software Engineering Member of Technical Staff. You will be part of the GUS engineering team, responsible for designing and building backend services for agile tooling, integrating GUS with the broader Salesforce ecosystem, and developing AI-assisted developer workflows. You will own features end to end, write high-quality code, collaborate with product managers and designers, diagnose and resolve production issues, mentor engineers, and contribute to the team's technical direction and standards.

  • Design and build backend services for agile tooling, integrate GUS with the broader Salesforce ecosystem, and develop AI-assisted developer tooling.
  • Own features end to end: design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production operation, while ensuring high-quality, well-tested, maintainable code.
  • Collaborate effectively across teams, take ownership of quality, testing, and the operational health of what you build, and mentor engineers.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
  • Strong proficiency in a modern backend language (Java, Apex, or equivalent) and experience with large, complex codebases
  • Experience designing and consuming APIs and building integrations between systems
  • Solid grounding in data modeling, relational databases, and distributed-systems fundamentals
  • BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
  • 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production services at scale
  • Demonstrated ability to own features end to end and deliver high-quality code in a fast-paced, agile environment
  • Experience building on or extending the Salesforce Platform (Apex, LWC, platform APIs)
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tooling — LLM-backed agents, coding assistants, or automation — and a point of view on applying them to real engineering workflows
  • Familiarity with agile tooling and engineering-productivity systems
  • Experience with cloud-native technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with observability and performance tooling (Splunk, Grafana, or equivalent)
  • A track record of mentoring peers and elevating team practices
  • Ability to influence across teams and consult on design and architecture beyond your immediate scope
