Join Salesforce's Monitoring Cloud team as a Software Engineer. You will be responsible for architecting, implementing, delivering, and operating telemetry agents and instrumentation libraries that power observability at Salesforce scale. Your work will span various technologies and will have a direct impact on the reliability and availability of Salesforce products.

• Architect, implement, deliver, and operate telemetry agents and instrumentation libraries for observability at Salesforce scale.
• Own every telemetry collection agent and instrumentation library at Salesforce, including instrumenting, collecting, transforming, and exporting logs, metrics, traces, and events.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and design teams to build agents and instrumentation that development teams across Salesforce depend on.

• Deep understanding and experience building services on the public cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)
• Excellent written and verbal communication that helps you collaborate effectively in distributed scrum teams
• Hands-on experience with containers and Kubernetes (EKS/GKE), including operating workloads such as DaemonSets or sidecars in production
• Experience building and operating services while ensuring 99.99% reliability in production
• B.S/M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent field with 8+ years of software development experience
• Strong experience developing services/software in a Linux/UNIX environment using Go, Java, or Python
• Experience building highly scalable, available, and real-time data management or data collection services
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment focused on delivering production code at a regular cadence using Agile techniques, tools, and methodologies
• Familiarity with observability signals and systems: metrics, logs, traces, and events, and platforms such as Prometheus, Splunk, Grafana, or similar
• Experience with OpenTelemetry (Collector, SDKs, or instrumentation) or comparable telemetry pipelines and agents
• Strong distributed-systems fundamentals and experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes), including client-server or agent/control-plane protocols (e.g. OpAMP)
• Experience with low-level or host-level instrumentation (eBPF, cAdvisor, kube-state-metrics)
• Expertise in Big Data and streaming technologies such as Kafka, Flink, Spark, Trino/Presto, Druid, or Airflow
• Experience with CI/CD technologies (such as Spinnaker), Docker, and Terraform
• Experience with Spring, gRPC, REST, and the HTTP protocol
