Mechanical Engineer (Arms)

Join our team as a Mechanical Engineer specializing in humanoid arms. You will design, test, and implement key hardware components, create 3D CAD parts, build prototypes, generate 2D drawings, and work with suppliers. You should have experience with actuators, 3D CAD software, prototype building, simulation and analysis methodology, and electromechanical integration. A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a relevant field and 2+ years of experience in mechanical engineering are required.

• Design and develop key hardware components for humanoid arms, including parts that satisfy load conditions and durability requirements.
• Build prototypes to test assembly, range of motion, and wire routing, and generate accurate 2D drawings using GD&T.
• Collaborate with the GSM team to select suppliers, order parts, and inspect first articles.

• Ability to write and maintain clean documentation for design processes
• Experience with actuators, including strain-wave, planetary, or cycloidal
• Expert in using 3D CAD software to design parts with complex geometry
• Experience designing and building prototypes
• Experienced with simulation and analysis methodology (FEA, MATLAB etc.)
• 2+ years of experience in mechanical engineering
• Experience with electromechanical integration, such as sensors, motors, motor drivers, wire harnesses, and communication buses
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical, Biomechanical, Robotics, Mechatronics, or similar field
• Experience with high volume manufacturing processes
• Experience working with contract manufacturers
• CATIA V6 Experience
• Wire harness design experience
