Director of Product (Payments)

Join Metropolis as the Director of Product, Payments. In this role, you will own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for payment processing, subscription billing, and revenue automation/reconciliation. You will lead product strategy, manage payment processing relationships, and partner closely with engineering. This is a hands-on role with the opportunity to build and lead a team of product managers. • Own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for payment processing, subscription billing, and revenue automation/reconciliation, ensuring accuracy, scalability, and reliability.
• Lead product strategy for payment processing, enterprise billing, client/revenue reporting, and revenue automation/reconciliation, and be hands-on with strategy, execution, and cross-functional alignment.
• Own Metropolis’ payment processing relationships and strategy (processors, routing, fee structure), representing product in those partnerships.

• Strong analytical skills and a data-driven approach to prioritization
• Comfortable engaging with Engineering on system architecture and integration tradeoffs, without needing to own them
• Strong technical and data literacy, including comfort with financial data models, transaction schemas, SQL, and ledger systems
• Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and drive clarity from complexity
• 10+ years of product management experience, with a track record owning payments, billing, or financial-systems products
• Deep understanding of payment processing (routing, reconciliation, PSP relationships) and enterprise/subscription billing
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management, including with clients (REPs) and executive leadership
• Experience leveraging AI tools to transform static workflows into responsive, high-output processes
• Experience building and leading teams
• Domain experience in parking, transportation, or mobility
