Vice President of Cloud Architecture Engineering

Join iCapital as the Vice President of Cloud Architecture Engineering. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and improving our core compute, network, and edge infrastructure. You will work closely with application and platform teams, manage Transit Gateway and Network Firewall, and produce reference architectures and design documents. The ideal candidate has strong AWS, Kubernetes, and web infrastructure skills, with a background in software engineering and experience in platform, cloud, or infrastructure engineering roles.

• Comfortable operating as a senior individual contributor with influence across multiple teams as a leader
• Some experience with EKS standards such as Bottlerocket, Karpenter, and Auto-mode
• Certifications (AWS/Kubernetes) are a plus but not required
• A software engineering background is helpful, and some experience with Python is expected
• Deep understanding of AWS infrastructure, including networking, security primitives, and managed services
• Expertise in cloud networking architecture patterns, including VPC design, routing, and planning for scale
• Strong understanding of application design principles
• Experience directly managing Akamai in a production environment
• Strong hands-on experience designing and operating Kubernetes platforms in production environments, including a strong understanding of autoscaling strategies, node provisioning, and security on EKS
• Very strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain architectural decisions to both technical and nontechnical audiences
• Expertise in Kong or other API Gateways at a deep level
• 8+ years of experience in platform, cloud, or infrastructure engineering roles, with demonstrated architectural responsibility
• Strong understanding of ingress/egress, TGW design, and private connectivity
• The ideal candidate for this role is a strong cloud architect who excels at both big-picture thinking as well as hands-on technical work
