Senior Manager of Software Engineering

Join Salesforce as a Senior Manager of Software Engineering, leading the Reliability Engineering team responsible for our multi-cloud compute platform. In this critical leadership role, you will set the vision and drive operations and reliability for the next-generation Service Mesh and Identity architecture across multiple clouds. You will lead a team of platform engineers, set the technical vision and roadmap, partner with architects and product owners, and develop each engineer's ability to work in an AI-augmented environment.

• Orchestrate, monitor, and ensure the availability and operations of microservices supporting service mesh and ingress gateway across a large fleet of clusters.
• Lead, coach, and grow a team of platform engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Set the technical vision and roadmap for the next generation of Service Mesh and Identity, ensuring the platform remains reliable, observable, and self-healing at fleet scale.

• You assess candidates on their ability to write effective prompts, evaluate AI outputs, and orchestrate multi-agent workflows, in addition to core technical skills
• A related technical degree required
• You use AI development tools hands-on, and you have the technical depth to judge the architecture and quality of AI-generated output
• You have 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years managing engineering teams, with hands-on depth in Kubernetes, service mesh, networking (DNS, TLS, HTTP proxies), and a major public cloud
• You have programming experience in Go or Python
• You have used infrastructure-as-code and delivery tools such as Terraform and Argo
• You have used observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, or Elasticsearch
• You have experience building AI multi-agent or retrieval-augmented generation systems, or leading open-source contribution strategy
