Director of Product (State & Local Government)

Join Workday as the Director of Product for State & Local Government. In this role, you will connect customer needs with product development, shape Workday's strategy for the public sector, and build relationships with key customers. You will influence revenue and customer value, act as a trusted advisor to strategic customers, and continuously analyze industry performance. This position requires 10+ years of related work experience, strong industry expertise, and deep product knowledge.

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with State & Local Government customers, acting as a trusted advisor and advocate for their needs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Product, Partnerships, and Marketing, to ensure the Workday product suite aligns with industry requirements and trends.
• Drive innovation by identifying new solutions for unmet customer needs, and work to shape the go-to-market approach and revenue path for these opportunities.

• 10+ years of related work experience in a customer-facing, product strategy, or industry role
• Confidence presenting to and influencing executive audiences
• Prior experience working in State & Local Governments is a plus, as is expertise in the Workday product suite, particularly Financial Management & Spend products
• A track record of driving innovation, especially in identifying new solutions for unmet customer needs
• Skill in developing business cases that connect industry opportunities to investment decisions
• Strong industry expertise in public sector, including an understanding of its unique priorities and challenges
• Experience building strong customer relationships and driving customer success in complex, enterprise environments
• Deep product knowledge, with the ability to translate industry needs into clear product requirements
