Trip Leader

DESCRIPTION: The UNM Trip Leader must be proficient in planning and organizing trips, preparing and maintaining equipment, educating participants on outdoor skills and safety practices, and managing group dynamics in outdoor environments. It’s essential the trip leader prioritizes risk management, teamwork, inclusivity, and environmental stewardship while creating engaging opportunities for participants to explore the outdoors, develop new skills, and build meaningful connections through outdoor recreation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Guide UNM students, staff, faculty and outside community members on Getaway Trips.
• Prepare meals, and abide dietary restrictions for participants Maintain regular office hours, as well as night time hours for classes and weekend supervision of outdoor trips and challenge course programs.
• Work cooperatively with other Recreational Services staff members and assist with departmental special events as necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.
