Senior Software Engineer (Mapping Data & Eval)

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Roadgraph team, you will play a crucial role in building the intelligent platform and automated pipelines that create, validate, and scale the high-definition geo knowledge base powering the Waymo Driver. You will work on all aspects of the modeling life cycle, evaluate and launch machine learning models, and build backend infrastructure for storing and processing map data. • Concevoir et mettre en œuvre des modèles d'apprentissage automatique appliqués, des moteurs d'évaluation et des infrastructures de données à grande échelle pour transformer les flux de capteurs réels en une base de connaissances spatiales précise et fiable.
• Collaborer avec les équipes embarquées pour résoudre les problèmes de manière globale, travailler sur tous les aspects du cycle de vie de la modélisation (étiquetage, formation, évaluation, inférence).
• Évaluer et lancer des modèles d'apprentissage automatique qui génèrent automatiquement des cartes à partir de données brutes, et appliquer une analyse statistique pour valider les changements à grande échelle.

• Hands-on experience with statistical analysis, experiment design, and quantitative evaluation of ML models or data pipelines
• Experience building scalable data processing pipelines using distributed frameworks like Google Data Flow or Apache Beam
• Demonstrated ability to take ownership of complex technical problems end-to-end and deliver measurable results in a collaborative team environment
• B.S. in Computer Science or a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• A passion for good software engineering
• Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Robotics, Computer Vision, or a related quantitative field
• Experience with high-performance computing, C++ optimization, and large-scale distributed systems architecture
• Domain familiarity with autonomous vehicles, robotics, high-definition (HD) mapping or GIS/spatial databases
