Engineering Manager (Advisor Experience)

In this role, you will lead a small group of full-stack engineers, shape the technical direction and team culture, and partner closely with product management and design. You will own the team's technical direction, drive execution, recruit and hire engineers, collaborate across engineering teams, and champion operational excellence. • Lead and mentor a team of full-stack engineers, fostering a culture of accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Partner closely with product management and design to define roadmaps, prioritize work, and deliver on initiatives that shape the advisor-client experience.
• Own the team's technical direction, guiding architecture decisions, conducting design reviews, and providing meaningful feedback in code reviews.

• You have a strong full-stack technical background — you're comfortable reviewing architecture across the stack, from Java or similar backend systems to modern frontend frameworks like React, Ember, or Svelte
• You're familiar with AI-assisted development workflows and see them as a natural part of how modern engineering teams operate
• You have a B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• You're a clear, direct communicator who can translate between technical details and business outcomes for stakeholders across product, design, and leadership
• You're an effective technical leader who doesn't need to write every line of code but stays close enough to the work to guide design decisions, unblock engineers, and maintain high standards in code review
• Experience with real-time communication systems, messaging infrastructure, or client-facing portal experiences is a strong plus
• You have experience building and growing engineering teams — whether that's hiring your first reports, structuring interview loops, or scaling a team through a period of growth
• You have a background or strong interest in fintech, wealth management, or financial advisor workflows
• You have 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a people management or team leadership role
