Pharmacy Technician II (Specialty Mail Order) - Pharmacy Practice, Retzky College of Pharmacy

The University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), Ambulatory Pharmacy Services is seeking two full-time Pharmacy Technician II professionals to join the team at our only Mail Order Pharmacy location. Wood Street Pharmacy is a closed-door mail-order pharmacy and continues to expand its specialty and mail order program. Wood Street Pharmacy provides pharmaceutical care to the patients of UI Health and employees of UIC and UI Health.

If you are a pharmacy technician with retail, outpatient, or inpatient experience that can navigate between product dispensing, claims adjudication, shipping and point of sale, then we encourage you to apply.

Duties

Responsibilities

• Filling outpatient prescriptions, packaging medications for delivery and adjudicating prescriptions.
• Maintain an organized drug distribution section of the pharmacy to maintain an efficient workflow system.
• Entering prescription orders into a computerized system and maintenance of inventory.
• Communicate effectively with patients under stressful situations providing excellent customer service.
• Understanding and acting in accordance with the laws pertaining to patient confidentiality.
• Ensure phone calls are answered in a timely manner and transferred appropriately.
• Perform basic pharmaceutical compounding skills (non-sterile).
• Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
