Counsel (Litigation)

Join Snap Inc., a leading social media company, as a Counsel (Litigation) in our Legal team. You will play a key role in managing a diverse range of matters within Snap's complex litigation docket across multiple jurisdictions. You will collaborate with in-house and outside counsel, dive deep into substantive work on cutting-edge legal issues, and contribute to individual litigation matters. • Be an active and strategic member of a team managing a diverse range of matters within Snap’s complex litigation docket across multiple jurisdictions.
• Partner with in-house and outside counsel to manage cutting-edge cases, overseeing substantive work and be a key participant in strategic decision-making.
• Manage and contribute to individual litigation matters across multiple jurisdictions, including working with outside counsel, managing discovery, editing legal briefs, preparing witnesses, and negotiating settlements.

• We’re looking for an experienced, multidimensional litigator to join our talented and collaborative Litigation & Safety Team
• Strong organizational and case management skills
• Able to juggle multiple projects at a time in a fast-paced environment
• Highly skilled in all aspects of litigation (e.g., brief-writing, legal strategy, discovery, deposition and trial preparation, expert witnesses); trial experience a plus
• Self-starter who is able to recognize and set priorities independently
• Ability to collaborate well with colleagues
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Experience handling significant aspects of complex legal matters, including meaningfully contributing to strategic decisions
• Sound judgment on legal and business issues
• Facility with eDiscovery, including managing voluminous document productions in a cost-effective manner
• Collaborative team player who can connect well with a broad range of people and knows how to provide solution-minded legal advice, cognizant of business objectives
• J.D. degree from an accredited law school and strong academic credentials
• 6+ years of complex litigation experience in private practice
• Active membership in at least one state bar in good standing
• Trial experience is a plus
• Member of California Bar or Member of the California Bar’s Registered In-house Counsel Program (current or immediately eligible)
• In-house experience is highly preferred. If you have all of that plus experience with the tech sector, we’ll be blown away
