Embedded Software Engineer (Ground Systems)

Join our team as an Embedded Software Engineer, where you will develop software that controls and operates our ground antenna systems. This role requires strong software development experience in Python, experience with low-level interfaces and communication protocols, and the ability to work cross-functionally with software, electrical, mechanical, and RF engineers. You will be responsible for developing reliable software for controlling electromechanical components, integrating new systems into the software stack, and supporting the deployment and operation of ground antenna systems in the field.

• Develop software that supports the operation and integration of ground antenna systems, including low-level software for controlling motors, actuators, sensors, and other electromechanical components.
• Build and maintain interfaces between software and ground-station systems using low-level communication protocols, and integrate and test new electrical and mechanical systems with the antenna software stack.
• Develop automated tests and tools to validate antenna control software and system performance, and work closely with cross-functional teams to bring new ground-station capabilities into operation.

• Experience with test automation and software validation
• Ability to work cross-functionally with software, electrical, mechanical, and RF engineers
• Strong software development experience in Python
• Experience developing and debugging low-level interfaces and communication protocols
• Experience with networking and software communication protocols
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
• Professional experience developing and debugging software that integrates with motors, actuators, servos, encoders, sensors, controllers, or other electromechanical systems
• Strong experience developing software in Embedded Linux environments
• Experience developing software in C or C++
• Experience with RF systems, satellite communications, or ground-station systems
• Experience deploying or supporting integrated software/electromechanical systems in field environments
• Experience with GNU Radio or similar software-defined radio frameworks
