Financial Operations Analyst

In this role, you will be at the center of the Finance organization, consolidating planning inputs and reporting performance to leadership. You will review purchase requisitions for compliance, conduct analysis during monthly and quarterly closes, and support month-end close activities. This position requires a solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and procure-to-pay processes, as well as experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. • Review purchase requisitions for compliance with U.S. GAAP and Zoox accounting policies, and conduct pre-approval compliance checks of purchase orders against budget and forecast models.
• Support month-end close by providing PO and receipt data to Accounting, identifying unreceived goods and services for accrual, and conducting Forecast vs. Actuals (FvA) analysis.
• Build and maintain trackers on committed spend versus budget by cost center, and track and report compliance metrics to Finance leadership.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain accounting policy clearly to non-finance stakeholders
• Experience with spend management or procurement software (e.g., Coupa, Ariba)
• BA/BS degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, or a quantitative field
• Hands-on experience with a major ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
• Detail-oriented and reliable, with a positive attitude and the ability to quickly adapt to changes in a fast-moving environment
• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP, particularly as it applies to expense classification and capitalization
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, and analysis of large datasets)
• Experience supporting a procure-to-pay system implementation or an accounting policy rollout
• Experience with manufacturing and/or fulfillment accounting
• Public accounting experience, Big 4 a huge plus
• High-growth startup and/or public company accounting experience
• 4+ years of relevant work experience in finance operations, procurement, accounting, or FP&A
