Staff Software Engineer (Mobile QA)

Join Coinbase as a Staff Software Engineer, Mobile QA. You will be part of the App Infra team, leading the native rewrite of Coinbase's retail mobile app. Your responsibilities will include setting the quality bar for frontend development, owning the technical strategy for mobile QA infrastructure, building and scaling automated test systems, and guiding the QA readiness workstream for the phased rollout. You will also partner cross-functionally with engineering leadership, product, and design to define SLOs and quality dashboards.

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with deep expertise in mobile test infrastructure, including architecting automated regression systems for native iOS and Android at scale
• Strong proficiency in Swift and Kotlin with the ability to architect test frameworks, debug native app behavior, and enforce compile-time quality constraints, maintaining standards even in the face of pressure to ship
• Demonstrated ability to build alignment and secure commitment from cross-team and cross-functional partners on quality standards, testing strategy, and release criteria
• Experience operating QA processes during large-scale migrations or platform transitions, including managing dual-codebase parity validation, phased rollout quality gates, and leading SEVs and postmortems that improve team practices
• Uses generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and measurable gains in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality
