Job Description
Join Skydio, a leading drone manufacturer, as the Director of Product Management for Platform & Infrastructure. In this senior individual-contributor role, you will own and execute the Cloud Platform & Infrastructure roadmap, delivering multi-cloud, multi-region, and government-compliant platform capabilities. You will work closely with various teams to build the platform foundations that unlock growth while ensuring a fast, simple, and frictionless experience for customers.
- Own and execute the Cloud Platform & Infrastructure roadmap, delivering multi-cloud, multi-region, and government-compliant platform capabilities.
- Drive the cross-functional programs that bring the platform roadmap to market, working closely with SRE, cloud engineering, security & compliance, legal, GTM, and executive leadership.
- Run discovery with government and commercial customers to surface their needs, build business cases for investment, and validate proposed solutions in the field.
- Track record of shipping platform features that materially improved reliability, scalability, security, and/or cost. Comfortable making tradeoffs and driving decisions with incomplete data
- Experience shipping products under regulatory constraint. FedRAMP, CJIS, or DoD RMF is ideal, but SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI, or financial regulatory work counts. What matters is that audit and certification requirements have shaped what you could build, and you've run the organizational work to meet them — not that you've done it in a federal context. You can translate regulatory controls into product requirements and run the organizational workstreams to meet them
- Exceptional product judgment. You can hear five different customer complaints and recognize the one platform capability that resolves all of them. You've turned messy field pain into a prioritized roadmap and driven it to completion across teams you don't manage. You're equally credible setting strategy with executives and cutting scope with an engineer
- 8+ years product experience shipping cloud platform, infrastructure, or developer-facing products - or adjacent technical products, with the ability to get to working knowledge of unfamiliar infrastructure quickly. You don't need to be an infrastructure expert; you need engineers to respect you in a design review
- Strong program management and stakeholder influence skills — you can align engineering, security, legal, sales, and customers toward common goals without formal authority
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience briefing executives and external auditors
- Demonstrated track record of turning customer pain into a prioritized roadmap and driving cross-functional programs to completion
- This role will be driving the development of products for our military customers, and is subject to U.S. export control laws and government contract requirements. As a result, this position is open only to U.S. citizens or Green Card holders. Skydio does not offer employment-based visa or permanent residency sponsorship for this role
- Obtaining FAA Part 107 certification within the first 60 days of employment is strongly encouraged for all Skydio employees and required for certain positions
