Remote Full-time Senior
Job Description

Controller (Remote, NetSuite)
Own the accounting function of a private equity-backed software and services company growing through acquisition. Partner directly with the CFO, make NetSuite your own, and build processes that scale with the business.
This opportunity suits an experienced Controller who enjoys doing the work, or a strong Senior Accountant ready to step into Controller-level ownership. As the company grows, there is potential to expand into broader finance leadership.
Location:
Fully remote in the United States, excluding Hawaii.
Base salary:
$120,000–$145,000 annually, with flexibility for the right candidate.
Workload:
Approximately 40 hours per week.
What You’ll Own
Run the accounting function as a hands-on department of one: GL, AP/AR, invoicing, collections, payroll accounting, bookkeeping, and reconciliations.
Own monthly and annual close, financial statements, and reliable reporting. The current monthly close runs approximately 5–7 business days.
Serve as NetSuite’s primary in-house accounting owner, handling day-to-day use, troubleshooting, configuration, reporting, and workflow improvements.
Maintain GAAP accounting, deferred revenue, and prepaids across annual software subscriptions, fixed-price services with milestones, and time-and-materials work.
Coordinate external auditors and maintain clear supporting schedules, controls, and documentation.
Guide outsourced implementation partners as acquired businesses move into NetSuite; you will manage requirements and validate results rather than implement conversions yourself.
Support the CFO with budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow planning, and reporting as your capabilities develop.
What You Bring
A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Progressive accounting experience, typically around 5–7 years or more, with substantial personal responsibility for close and the underlying accounting work.
Hands-on NetSuite experience and the ability to independently own its accounting use without foundational training.
Practical GAAP, reconciliation, deferred-revenue, and Excel skills.
Willingness to personally handle daily accounting while improving the function.
Strong Senior Accountants who have substantially contributed to close are welcome; previous Controller title or final close sign-off is not required. CPA/public accounting, software or services experience, ERP migration exposure, and FP&A experience are helpful. Deep ASC 606 policy specialization and prior FP&A ownership can develop with the CFO’s support.
Benefits
Health, dental, and vision coverage; 401(k) eligibility; 100% of the employee health premium covered, plus a 25% contribution toward spouse/dependent health premiums.
