Accounting Operations

Join Plaid, a leading financial technology company, as a key contributor to Accounting Operations. In this role, you will own the accounting for accruals, investments, leases, intercompany activity, and cost allocations. You will prepare and review journal entries, reconcile accounts, analyze balances and trends, and ensure accuracy each month, quarter, and year-end. You will also help build scalable, efficient processes that support Plaid's growth and public readiness. • Own the accounting for accruals, investments, leases, intercompany activity, and cost allocations, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Partner with FP&A, Strategic Finance, Tax, Treasury, Legal, Marketing, and vendors to ensure spend is accrued completely and accurately and that balances are well understood.
• Identify and implement process, automation, and control improvements in your areas to shorten the close and support SOX 404 readiness.

• Proven change agent with a track record of improving processes, leveraging technology, and scaling operations
• Proficiency with NetSuite, Zip, T&E and close management platforms is a plus
• Familiarity with SOX compliance and the ability to produce audit-ready workpapers
• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Big 4 public accounting, with a deep understanding of US GAAP; CPA preferred
• Problem solver and first-principles thinker with a bias for action, creativity, and a willingness to challenge conventional approaches
• Hands-on, can-do attitude, willing to roll up their sleeves, dive into details, and own execution
• Experience with multi-entity, multi-currency accounting
• Strong communicator and collaborator who can effectively engage technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience at a public company or with IPO readiness
