Automotive Technical Consultant

In this role, you will provide technical expertise, troubleshooting support, and process improvement recommendations to dealership service departments. You will diagnose and resolve complex vehicle technical concerns, support recall campaigns, and analyze repair trends to improve first-time fix rates. • Diagnose and resolve complex vehicle technical concerns and escalations, providing technical assistance both remotely and on-site at dealerships.
• Serve as a subject matter expert and lead technical discussions, supporting recall campaigns and Required Service Updates (RSUs).
• Collaborate with dealership personnel to improve customer satisfaction and service performance, analyzing repair trends and identifying opportunities to improve first-time fix rates.

Required

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of automotive repair experience.
• Automotive dealership experience.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to travel locally within an assigned territory.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred

• Current or previous ASE Certification.
• Shop Foreman, Assistant Service Manager, or similar leadership experience.
• Field service or dealership management experience.
• Experience analyzing repair data and documenting technical cases.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate may not have been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At MSXi, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $80K to $103K based on current experience.
