Director of Integration Engineering

Join Hippocratic AI as the Director of Integration Engineering, where you'll lead the team responsible for building and operating technical connections between Hippocratic AI and various EHR and health system environments. You'll manage engineers across the US and India, set technical direction and delivery standards, and ensure the stability of integrations in production. This role requires a deep understanding of healthcare integration engineering, experience managing distributed teams, and a passion for improving healthcare through technology.

• Lead the team responsible for building and operating technical connections between Hippocratic AI and various EHR and health system environments.
• Own the production integration and development shop end to end, including architecture, delivery, on-call reliability, and engineering practices.
• Work closely with Product, Engineering, Partnerships, and partner-side IT teams to scope new integrations, keep existing ones healthy, and build a scalable team and process.

• Track record of taking health system integrations live on schedule and keeping them stable in production, including incident response and root-cause resolution
• Deep, working knowledge of HL7 v2 messaging, flat file interface design, and modern API-based integration patterns (REST, FHIR), along with working knowledge of X12 transactions, across EHR ecosystems
• 3+ years managing a production integration and/or software development team, including on-call ownership for live interfaces
• Proven experience running engineering delivery with GitHub (source control, code review, branching strategy) and Jira (sprint planning, issue tracking, release management)
• Comfort working directly with internal teams as well as partner IT, interface, and clinical informatics teams during scoping, build, and go-live
• Experience managing engineers across distributed, multi-time-zone teams, including the US and India
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Health Informatics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Working knowledge of Python-based development and at least one integration engine (InterSystems IRIS), sufficient to review architecture and unblock the team on technical decisions
• 8+ years in healthcare integration engineering, with hands-on experience integrating against Epic (required); Cerner (Oracle Health) and/or athenahealth experience strongly preferred
• Direct experience with Epic’s Show Room, App Orchard/Vendor Services API catalog
• Experience with Cerner Millennium interfaces or athenahealth’s API/partner integration program specifically, not just Epic
• Background standing up or scaling an integration engineering function inside a high-growth health tech or digital health company
• Familiarity with scheduling APIs, patient engagement platforms, or voice/AI agent architectures in a clinical setting
• Experience with infrastructure and vendor relationships supporting integrations (e.g., telephony, cloud infrastructure, data exchange platforms)
• Experience with CI/CD, containerization (Docker), or cloud-based deployment pipelines for integration workloads
• Advanced degree in a technical or health informatics field
• Background in AI/ML data pipelines or healthcare analytics
