Director of Software Engineering

Join SnapLogic as the Director of Software Engineering, where you will own the platform that SnapLogic services run on, set architectural direction, build and grow the team, and ensure the reliability and scale of the platform. You will lead a team focused on productivity, quality, and team health, and be accountable for the zero-downtime SLA. You will also champion AI adoption throughout the Software Development Life Cycle and work directly with application teams, SRE, support, and the field to set and meet expectations for platform capability and health.

• Strong programming fundamentals, ideally in Java and/or Python, and the ability to pick up new languages and stacks
• A B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• Familiarity with observability tooling, including metrics, tracing, and structured logs, and with SRE practices
• Experience with GitOps delivery (ArgoCD) and infrastructure as code (Terraform or equivalent)
• 10+ years building and operating production backend systems, including enterprise SaaS or PaaS
• Hands-on experience operating MongoDB or another NoSQL database at scale, including sharding, replica sets, query profiling, and index tuning
• Multi-tenant public and private cloud experience
• Hands-on experience running Kubernetes in production at scale, ideally Amazon EKS, including troubleshooting cluster, networking, and workload issues
• 5+ years leading and managing engineering teams, including on-shore and off-shore teams
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS, containers, and CI/CD
• A deep understanding of distributed systems, including HTTP protocols, distributed caching strategies, and observability
• A solid grasp of relational or NoSQL databases, including query performance, indexing, and schema design trade-offs
• Agile project and release management experience
• A record of making accurate, fast decisions under production pressure
• A track record of taking systems from design through production rollout and owning them after launch
• Experience being accountable for an availability SLA on a customer-facing platform
• Deep experience operating distributed systems in production, including debugging, profiling, capacity planning, and incident response
• Experience implementing continuous delivery and cloud deployment solutions
