Job Description

Solutions Engineer — Ad Fraud, Cybersecurity & AI Agentic Trust (Japan)

Description

About Spider AF
Spider AF protects trust online. We started in ad fraud, helping companies detect, block, and prevent fraudulent traffic so their marketing works, and we are now extending our fraud-judgment technology into the wider AI and agentic era, where trust and safety matter far beyond advertising. We are an international team that works in both English and Japanese, and we build on a base of accuracy, integrity, and trust.

Spider AF builds products that detect and block ad fraud and protect digital marketing. As AI agents and automated traffic grow fast, trust and fraud protection matter more than ever, and we are building for this new AI and agentic era, opening our fraud-judgment technology beyond ad fraud.

We are looking for a Solutions Engineer to be the technical bridge between our clients and our product. This is a hybrid, client-facing role: you support Sales in pre-sales meetings, help Customer Success with technical questions after the deal, and own L2 product support, finding the root cause of issues and driving real fixes back into the product.

This is a foundational role. You will be the dedicated technical authority for our growing client base in Japan, and you will help build a scalable, structured Solutions Engineer function alongside our Sales, CS, and Product teams, not just follow an existing process. You will work in Japanese with clients externally, and in English with our international product and engineering team.

What you will own
- Pre-sales support (with Sales). Join client-facing meetings as the technical expert, answer technical and product questions during the sales cycle, and give feasibility input on client requests. Focus your meeting support on key and strategic deals and new products, where technical depth makes the difference. Support proof-of-concept, trial setup, and new-account onboarding, and prepare technical answers for RFPs and client questionnaires (security, integration, data). At trial start, help confirm that the client’s technical setup and conversion measurement are correct, so trials run smoothly and give clean, reliable results. (Sales handles initial outreach and account management; you step in as the technical expert on qualified opportunities.)

- Post-sales technical support (with CS). Be the technical contact for domestic client issues that go beyond front-line support, handle edge-case questions that are not in the knowledge base, and support onboarding and integration checks after the deal closes. (CS handles front-line customer communication and relationships; you handle the technical and integration cases.)

- L2 product support (with Product). Investigate technical issues end to end: find the root cause, reproduce, and triage. Follow real product bugs and gaps back into the product team with a clear spec, coordinate with engineering on fixes, and confirm the resolution with the client.

- Knowledge and process. Keep the established communication flow so requests do not turn into scattered direct messages, and feed client and market insight back to the product roadmap.

- Build with AI. Use and build AI agents and tools in your daily work to answer faster and investigate better. We are an AI-forward team and we like new ideas here.

Preferred Experiences

- Experience as a “bridge” between Japanese business teams and international engineering or product teams.
- Cybersecurity or bot-detection background.
- Data tools (BigQuery, Looker, Google Sheets, Excel) and basic SQL.
- Experience with programmatic advertising or affiliate and agency ecosystems.

We are looking for

You will do your best work with us if:
- You know the ad and fraud domain well enough to answer hard client questions on the spot, not just look them up.
- You like solving real client technical problems end to end, and you follow them until they are fixed.
- You can switch between a client meeting and a hands-on investigation in the same day.
- You communicate clearly with both clients and engineers, in Japanese and English.
- You stay calm with clients under pressure, and you keep clear, honest communication.
- If this is how you work best, this role will suit you, and you will grow fast here.
