Job Description

Our Goals

At Farcast, we aim to improve global prosperity. We achieve this goal by building innovative products that enable access to information. Satellite internet is one of the most important ways to achieve this goal and to provide global connectivity coverage. However, the capacity of satellite internet services is limited by the quality and affordability of the devices consumers use to connect to satellites. These devices are called “user terminals”. Our mission is to bring unprecedented innovation to the user terminal industry.

We believe our innovation will be key in making satellite internet accessible to everyone. Please join us if your goals align with ours!

We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and development of high-density electronics for next-generation phased array antennas used in satellite communications. This is a deeply hands-on role spanning circuit design, schematic capture, PCB layout, bring-up, validation, and production. Depending on your background and expertise, you may focus on RF, mixed-signal, digital, or power electronics, contributing to everything from antenna circuitry to control and interface boards. We have opportunities across multiple engineering teams and will match candidates with roles that best align with their expertise. You will take ownership of complex hardware designs, drive key technical decisions, and work closely with RF, systems, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to deliver reliable, high-performance products from concept through production.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of complex RF, mixed-signal, digital, and power electronics, including schematic capture and high-density PCB layout, depending on areas of expertise.
  • Drive system architecture and component selection decisions, balancing electrical performance, signal and power integrity, thermal constraints, manufacturability, and cost.
  • Own the full PCB/PCBA development cycle, from initial design and prototyping through fabrication, assembly, bring-up, validation, and production release.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive hardware test and verification plans, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure design reliability and performance.
  • Work closely with RF, systems, mechanical, software, and manufacturing engineers to resolve integration challenges and optimize system-level performance.
  • Lead technical coordination with PCB fabrication and assembly partners, ensuring DFM/DFT compliance, manufacturing readiness, and resolution of production issues.

Required Experience

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in electrical hardware design, including schematic capture, PCB layout, bring-up, and testing.
  • Strong experience with schematic capture and high-density PCB layout using Altium, OrCAD, Allegro, or similar tools.
  • Demonstrated expertise in at least one of the following areas: RF, mixed-signal, digital, or power electronics.
  • Strong understanding of signal integrity, power integrity, transmission lines, impedance matching, and PCB design principles relevant to the candidate’s area of expertise.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with circuit testing, debugging, and laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and power supplies.
  • Experience designing and releasing complex PCBAs into production, including DFM/DFT, fabrication, assembly, and manufacturing coordination.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently own complex hardware designs, resolve technical challenges, and collaborate across engineering disciplines.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Master’s degree is a plus.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Extensive experience designing high-density PCBs, including HDI technology, complex multilayer stackups, and fine-pitch BGA components.
  • Advanced knowledge of RF design principles, transmission lines, impedance matching, and high-frequency PCB layout.
  • Experience designing high-speed digital interfaces, managing signal and power integrity, or developing complex power distribution systems.
  • Experience designing and testing RF systems, active antenna modules, or phased arrays.
  • Proven experience transitioning complex electronics into high-volume production, including DFM/DFT, manufacturing optimization, and cost reduction.
  • Experience with GNSS/INS systems, including antennas and associated electronics.
  • Experience developing high-reliability electronics for aerospace, aviation, automotive, or similarly demanding applications.

Base Salary

  • Final compensation package will include a competitive base salary, meaningful company stock options, and a comprehensive package of cash and non-cash benefits. The final package will be tailored to the candidate’s experience, impact, and role scope.
  • Base Salary Range:
