Engineering Manager (Sustainability SaaS)

Join our mission-driven team as an Engineering Manager in the sustainability SaaS sector. You will lead a team of engineers, set the technical direction, and stay close to the code. Your role will involve driving AI-first engineering, coaching and supporting engineers, owning technical direction, staying hands-on, driving delivery, partnering across functions, and raising the bar for engineering practices. You should have 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years of leading or managing engineers, and a deep hands-on expertise in C#/.NET and solid experience with React.

• Lead and manage a team of engineers, providing coaching, support, and guidance to help them develop their skills and achieve their goals.
• Set the technical direction for the team, making and guiding architecture decisions across the React frontend and C#/.NET backend.
• Drive AI-first engineering by embedding AI coding assistants and agents throughout the development lifecycle, and evolving how the team uses them.

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years leading or managing engineers
• Proven experience balancing people management with technical leadership
• Practical experience using AI coding tools and agents (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) in a professional team, and a clear view of where they add value and where they don’t
• Experience building a strong team culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement
• Clear, empathetic communication with technical and non-technical audiences
• Nice to have: experience building AI or LLM-powered product features, or with sustainability, LCA, or data-heavy scientific software
• Deep hands-on expertise in C#/.NET and solid experience with React
