Manager of Software Engineering (Loans Lifecycle)

Join our Ledger Engineering team as a Manager of Software Engineering. You will be responsible for setting the technical strategy for your team, collaborating across teams in the product development lifecycle, and fostering a culture of quality and ownership. • Setting technical strategy for the team on a year-long time scale and aligning it with critical business-impacting projects.
• Collaborating across teams in the product development lifecycle to ensure technical sustainability, risks, and trade-offs are well understood and managed.
• Taking ownership of the team’s operations and availability by ensuring the right monitoring, triage rotations, playbooks, policies, testing, and alerting are in place.

• You have 8+ years of experience designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale using languages like Python or Kotlin, and 2+ years of experience managing a software team
• You have strong verbal and written communication skills that support effective collaboration with our global engineering team
• You understand how to manage a high performance team, delivering successfully by growing the team, coaching engineers, and aligning stakeholders
• You have an extensive track record of developing highly available distributed systems using technologies like AWS, MySQL, Spark and Kubernetes
• This position requires either equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• You have experience in financial systems, ledgering, treasury or adjacent domains where data accuracy and system reliability are critical
