Communications Specialist

Join Motorola Solutions as a Communications Specialist, where you'll be the voice of the company, telling the stories of everyday heroes and driving public relations, brand awareness, and regional communication strategies. You'll work closely with the North America Communications Team, support product communications, customer storytelling, media relations execution, and content creation. This role requires a strong passion for storytelling, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset.

• Collaborate with the North America Communications Team to support regional PR campaigns, product launches, and thought leadership.
• Uncover, research, and write compelling customer stories that highlight the impact of Motorola Solutions’ technology.
• Serve as a primary writer for a variety of public-facing materials, including press releases, news features, media pitches, and social media copy.

• Digital & AI Tool Proficiency: Working knowledge or eagerness to adopt generative AI tools, media monitoring platforms and content management systems to streamline daily work
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate seamlessly with marketing, sales, product managers and external customer teams
• Agility & Resourcefulness: Able to juggle multiple tight deadlines, adapt quickly as news cycles or business priorities shift and maintain high standards of quality
• Enthusiastic Go-Getter Mindset: High agency, proactive drive and eagerness to take initiative, learn new markets and tackle projects independently in a fast-paced environment
• Media Relations & Pitching Familiarity: Direct hands-on exposure to media relations concepts and pitching journalists
• Exceptional Writing & Editing: Outstanding narrative and drafting skills; able to shift tone easily between technical, corporate and human-centric story styles
• Proven exposure to media relations execution, media monitoring and outreach campaigns
• Demonstrated portfolio of exceptional corporate writing samples (press releases, pitch letters, customer features, articles)
• 3+ years of professional communications, public relations, or media experience (agency or corporate context preferred)
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Marketing or related discipline
• Bachelor's Degree AND 3+ years of professional communications, public relations, or media experience (agency or corporate context preferred)
