Staff Accountant (WA - Bellevue)

Position Summary

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for supporting the accounting operations of a rapidly growing restaurant chain with multiple locations across California, Texas, Oregon, and Seattle. This position will involve a variety of accounting tasks, including data entry, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting:

• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).

General Ledger Maintenance

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the general ledger.
• Perform account reconciliations and ensure proper classification of transactions.

Accounts Payable

Owning over 500 Invoices per month supporting multiple stores.

Expense Management

• Monitor and analyze expenses to identify trends and areas for cost savings.
• Work closely with management to develop and implement expense control measures.

Bank Reconciliation :

• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of cash balances and transactions.

Financial Analysis

• Assist in financial analysis and reporting, including variance analysis and budget vs. actual comparisons.
• Provide insights to management to support decision-making.

Tax Compliance

Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.

Audit Support

• Support external auditors during the annual audit process.
• Provide documentation and explanations as needed.

Qualifications

• BA degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e,g R365).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Additional Skills (Preferred):

• Experience in the restaurant industry a plus Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
