Production Control Technician, Die Shop

Description:
The Die Shop team is seeking a skilled and highly motivated Production Control Technician to join the team and contribute to our mission to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy. As a Production Control Technician you will be responsible for the activities related to material handling, from incoming inspection, storage, work in progress movements, pickups in our central General Stores and Mail Room in the main building. You will be leading the systems from dock to storage/staging to production line side locations, for improving productivity and efficiency of operations. The primary objective of the Production Control / Material Handling is to implement an efficient receiving, warehouse, material handling, and conveyance solutions to support the overall high pressure die casting dies manufacturing operation, while optimizing space, improving labor productivity, and creating a more ergonomic work environment for the Team.

Responsibilities:
Provide effective supervision and coaching to assigned shift/employees to achieve the required quality and production goals
Make sure that all incoming material matches the Purchase Orders, quality criteria, and key specifications
Maintain department records and inventories and manage the movement of product through the production area
Ensure that product is always in the process, plan and organize work for smooth operations
Ensure that standard operating procedures and engineering procedures are current, accurate and that all work is done in compliance to ensure maximum quality
Monitor to ensure that all employees comply with safety regulations and the plant's safety program
Schedule employees to effectively meet production needs and to ensure vacation and other time off consistent with plant policies

Requirements:
Minimum 4-year degree in related field, experience with evidence of exceptional ability, or equivalent experience
Must have experience in Production Control and strong knowledge of material flow methodologies including sequencing, kitting, repack, etc.
5+ years of experience in manufacturing, supply chain and/or distribution and logistics experience desirable
Minimum of 3 years in a Supervisory/Management role, or equivalent
Demonstrated excellent communication skills, including ability to express well-reasoned, independent thought. Natural ability to speak and write effectively at all organizational levels
Understanding of lean manufacturing concepts with the ability to lead 5S and kaizen efforts for continuous improvement
Strong knowledge of Production and Inventory Control within manufacturing environment with the ability to teach and coach others on best practices
