Security Engineer | GRC

From Security Engineer to CISO, build your expertise today, lead tomorrow. Our partner is a Belgian organisation with a strong and evolving IT environment, where cybersecurity is becoming increasingly strategic . They are looking for a Security Engineer to strengthen their security team and take an active role in securing the organisation's infrastructure, systems and cloud environment.

But this role goes beyond the technical scope. The long-term vision is to develop the right person towards a future CISO position , giving you increasing exposure to security strategy, risk, stakeholders and decision-making as you grow. Security Engineer - Your Role Protect and improve the organisation's IT infrastructure and security environment , covering networks, systems and cloud platforms.

Manage and optimise security solutions such as firewalls, VPNs, endpoint protection and access controls. Investigate security incidents and vulnerabilities , helping identify the root cause and implement effective solutions. Take part in cybersecurity projects , from infrastructure hardening to cloud security and new security technologies.

Work closely with Infrastructure, Network and IT teams to identify risks and strengthen the overall security posture. Gradually take on more responsibility around security governance, risk and strategy , preparing you for a future leadership role. Security Engineer - Your Profile 3+ years of experience in Security Engineering, Cybersecurity, Network Security or a similar technical environment.

Strong understanding of network and infrastructure security , including firewalls, VPNs, authentication and access management. Experience with Azure and/or GCP or another cloud environment. A hands-on mindset combined with a genuine interest in security strategy and risk management .

Strong communication skills and the ambition to progressively move from technical expertise towards security leadership . Fluent in Dutch , with a good understanding of the other language; English is also required.
