Job Summary

The Rad Technologist I CT PRN utilizes Computed Tomography (CT) scanners to capture specific images ordered by a physician to aid in patient diagnosis.

Essential Job Functions Accountabilities

• Follows a physician's instructions, prepares and operates Computed Tomography equipment, positions patients correctly and effectively records the requested diagnostic images.
• Start-up and calibrate Computed Tomography system daily.
• Reviews orders with Radiologist to determine proper protocol for each procedure.
• Performs Computed Tomography procedures in an efficient and timely manner.
• Administers IV contrast with proper dosage.
• Checks to see where dosage would be documented for a permanent record vs log book, which stays in Computed Tomography area.
• Orders and restocks supplies.
• Reports equipment failure to proper service organization and supervisor.
• Schedules service and preventive maintenance according to patient load and equipment availability when necessary.
• Enters and completes orders in Radiology computer system.
• Maintains QA records.
• Performs other job related duties as required.
