Student Assistant, Tops Peer Influencer

Summary Role Overview

Tops Peer Influencers are dedicated student leaders committed to promoting health and well-being among their peers at Tri-C. These student leaders, trained and certified through the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators’ (NASPA) Certified Peer Educator (CPE) program, play a crucial role in guiding students towards resources and support while facilitating activities that enhance health awareness and holistic well-being. The role emphasizes leadership, education, and positive impact, but does not involve providing medical or mental health counseling.

Key Responsibilities

Training:

• Complete 12-hour CPE Training and 2-hour QPR Suicide Prevention Training (paid trainings).

Peer Support

Maintain a presence on campus, serving as a resource and referral point for peers.

Social Media

Manage a social media presence to share educational content and direct students to resources.

Committee Involvement

Participate in the Tri-C Help Is Here weekly “Tops Peer Influencer Committee” meetings to debrief and plan programming and messages, assist with material review and present gathered student feedback.

Programming Initiatives

• Help plan and execute health and wellness programs and events, including Student Involvement Fairs, Success Week, and Wellness Fest.

Advertising:

• Support the promotion of events and programs through various means.

Video Production

Assist in creating promotional health-related video content for the HIH website, App, and other platforms.

Presentation Delivery

Present on health and wellness resources and topics at various campus events, student groups, and academic classes.

Wellness Wednesdays Tabling

Plan and implement weekly health and wellness events to engage the Tri-C community.
