Job Description

Join Peregrine, a high-growth technology company, as the VP of Finance. In this role, you will build the financial engine behind the company's growth, develop a high-performance team, and partner closely with the CFO and other leaders across the business. You will be responsible for creating a multi-year financial model, leading the annual operating plan, establishing a monthly budget cadence, and developing a view on unit economics. Additionally, you will own financial reporting and narrative for the CFO, executive team, Board, and investors. The ideal candidate has 12+ years of progressive finance experience, exceptional financial modeling capability, and experience with government contracting or regulated customer environments.

  • The ideal candidate has worked in both the ambiguity of a high-growth startup and the rigor of a mature private or public company and will help build the financial infrastructure required to support the business as it grows
  • Experience supporting international expansion is a plus
  • Exceptional executive communication. You are able to articulate complex topics and focus on what matters at the appropriate altitude for CEO and Board-level discussions
  • Fluency in complex revenue models, ideally spanning subscription, consumption, and professional services, with a clear view of how each behaves in gross margin and cash flow
  • Demonstrated ownership of a company-wide annual planning cycle, including driving cross-functional alignment and managing the process to a timeline
  • 12+ years of progressive finance experience, including an analytical foundation at an investment bank, private equity firm, or top-tier consulting firm, followed by strategic finance or FP&A leadership at a high-growth technology company
  • Exceptional financial modeling capability paired with hands-on data fluency. You should be comfortable pulling your own data and working in SQL or the equivalent
  • Experience with government contracting, regulated customer environments, or long procurement cycles is a strong plus
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, manage, and develop quantitative talent, and build a high-performance team and strong culture
  • You should be AI-native, with examples of how you’ve eliminated recurring manual work
  • Willing to work in our San Francisco office 4x/week
