Job Description

Join our team as an Embedded Software Engineer (Validation) and play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability of our embedded platform for autonomous aircraft. You will design and build the simulation and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) infrastructure used to validate platform services, develop automated test scenarios, and collaborate closely with software engineers throughout the software development lifecycle. This is a software engineering role focused on building scalable validation infrastructure, not manual testing.

  • Design, implement, and maintain automated validation infrastructure for embedded platform software, including simulation and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test environments.
  • Develop automated test scenarios covering core platform capabilities, including interprocess communication (IPC), logging and observability, communication bridges, over-the-air (OTA) update systems, and live telemetry.
  • Collaborate closely with software engineers to improve system quality and testability, and contribute to continuous integration pipelines and automated validation workflows.
  • Strong understanding of systems-level concepts including:
  • Ability to collaborate closely with software engineers to improve system quality and testability
  • Concurrency
  • Professional experience with Rust, Python, or similar programming languages
  • Experience designing automated test frameworks or validation infrastructure
  • Experience developing embedded or systems software
  • Distributed or multi-process systems
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across software and hardware boundaries
  • Networking
  • Interprocess communication
  • Experience working with embedded Linux systems
  • You enjoy understanding how complex systems behave and are motivated by building the infrastructure that makes them more reliable
  • You see testing as an engineering discipline, not a separate phase of development, and enjoy writing software that uncovers subtle system interactions before they become production problems
  • You are comfortable working across embedded software, simulation, hardware, and automation, and you enjoy collaborating with engineers to design systems that are both robust and testable
  • Experience building Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) or simulation-based validation systems
  • Experience in safety-critical or high-reliability industries such as aerospace, automotive, robotics, industrial systems, or medical devices
  • Experience with autonomous systems or robotics
  • Experience validating distributed embedded systems
  • Familiarity with OTA update systems, observability platforms, or telemetry infrastructure
  • Experience with performance testing, stress testing, fault injection, or resilience testing
  • Experience building automated test orchestration, dashboards, and reporting systems
  • Familiarity with CI/CD systems for embedded software development
