Business Analytics Intern

Join Smartly as a Business Analytics Intern for Fall 2026. This internship offers hands-on experience in applying analytical skills to real business challenges. You will support various analytical projects, transform raw datasets into structured data models, analyze complex datasets, build and enhance dashboards, and communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences. • Support a broad range of ongoing and ad hoc analytical projects, helping transform complex data into clear, actionable insights.
• Transform raw datasets into well-structured data models for analysis, reporting, and dashboarding.
• Analyze complex customer and business datasets to identify actionable insights and opportunities to better serve our customers.

• This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is naturally curious, comfortable working with data, and eager to explore how modern analytics and AI tools can help teams make better-informed decisions
• Can think logically and work through ambiguous problems
• Have experience working with SQL
• Are currently pursuing or have recently completed a degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or another quantitative or analytical field
• Have experience with Python or another programming language used for data analysis—this is beneficial but not required
• Have strong analytical and quantitative skills
• Are naturally curious and comfortable working with data
• Have an interest in AI and its applications within analytics
• Can communicate complex findings in a clear and accessible way
• Are motivated to learn new tools, technologies, and analytical techniques
• Are familiar with data modeling tools such as dbt or similar technologies—this is considered a strong advantage
• Experience structuring analyses and translating data into actionable business insights
• An understanding of how AI can support self-service analytics across an organization
• Practice partnering with stakeholders and translating business questions into analytical solutions
• Hands-on experience working as part of a Business Analytics team
• Experience designing dashboards that clearly communicate key metrics and trends
• Exposure to SQL and modern analytics tools used to work with large, complex datasets
• Experience preparing and modeling datasets for downstream analysis and reporting
• Experience incorporating AI tools into analytical workflows
