Senior Backend Software Engineer, Global E-commerce Core Shopping

Global E-commerce is a content e-commerce business with international short video product as the carrier. The global e-commerce business team hopes to provide users with more tailored, active and efficient consumption experience, enabling merchants to receive stable and reliable platform services in different scenarios such as live e-commerce, short video content e-commerce, so as to make more affordable and high-quality products sell easily and a better life within reach.

The Core Shopping & Experience team ensures a seamless core shopping experience across product details, shopping cart, transactions, and after-sales support. They optimize every stage, from product discovery to post-purchase, strengthening the trust between buyers, sellers, and the e-commerce platform.

Responsibilities:

• Be responsible for e-Commerce solutions for TikTok Shop in the US.
• Be responsible for building an intuitive and reliable shopping experience, including browsing product details, return, and refund, etc.
• Building scalable, maintainable, and extendable design and code, and clear documentation for a fast-growing product team.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or above degree in Computer Science or related fields from accredited and reputable institutions.
• 5+ years of experience developing highly scalable backend services and systems using at least one of Java/Golang/Python/Scala/C++ programming languages.
• Experience in software programming capabilities, exhibits good code design and coding style.
• Experience in understanding data structure, algorithm design, analysis, and highly scalable systems design.
• Experience in product and business understanding, able to align product engineering directions to support current and future products and business.

Preferred Qualifications:

• E-commerce industry experience is preferred.
• Understanding of observability, reliability, and performance optimization for large-scale systems.
• Passion for programming, strong learning ability, intellectual curiosity, and a proactive mindset toward staying current with industry technologies.
