Senior Accountant - Modesto, CA

Job Summary

The Senior Accountant provides high level analysis and performs complex accounting tasks to ensure accounting processes follow Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), IRS and other regulatory agencies. This includes responsibilities related to company financial audits, real estate and lease accounting, and financial statement consolidation. The position is responsible for writing internal accounting memos to support/guide the company’s adherence to GAAP as it relates to changes in facts/circumstances or new accounting pronouncements. The Senior Accountant recommends, designs, and implements controls based on policies, provides review and analysis on a variety of areas as assigned. The Senior Accountant routinely interfaces with department/senior management, third party administrators, and auditors to provide accounting services and/or answer questions. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities :

• Analyzes trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses
• Reports organization's finances to management and makes recommendations about resource utilization, tax strategies, and assumptions underlying budget forecasts
• Ensures financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures per GAAP
• Prepares accounting memos detailing GAAP research and recommendations
• Resolves accounting discrepancies and irregularities
• Ensures accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses, to include tenant/sub-tenant accounting
• Performs other duties as assigned
