Autonomy Engineer Intern (Computer Vision / Deep Learning, Summer 2027 Internship)

Join Skydio, a leading drone technology company, as an Autonomy Engineer Intern for the summer of 2027. In this role, you will work on cutting-edge computer vision algorithms that enable drones to understand their environment. You will be paired with members of our core software development team and take ownership of a project that advances our capabilities and products. This internship is an opportunity to contribute to the development of next-generation autonomy algorithms and push them into real products.

• Architect and implement computer vision algorithms for drones.
• Assume direct ownership of a project that advances the capabilities of the team and products.
• Research, prototype, and assess the feasibility of new approaches in intelligent systems.

• If you have a strong foundation in math, theory, and software development and you are interested in directly contributing to the development of the next generation of autonomy algorithms and pushing them into real products, we would love to hear from you
• Demonstrated enthusiasm for one or more of the following: computer vision, deep learning, motion planning, dynamics and controls, 3D graphics, distributed systems, and tools/infrastructure
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, small team environment
• Solid software engineering foundation and a commitment to writing clean, well-architected code
• High proficiency in C++ and/or Python and PyTorch
