Software Engineer (Factory Team)

Join Rogo, a company that builds AI to automate the work of financial professionals. As a Backend Software Engineer on the Internal Automation team, you will own the systems that connect Rogo's internal systems of record and act on them. You will take ambiguous operational problems and turn them into production services, build the internal data layer, ship agents that run unattended, automate the customer lifecycle, and handle company and customer data with care. You will also measure your own impact and work closely with non-technical stakeholders.

• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to work directly with non-technical stakeholders, translate how they actually work into requirements, and ship against them without a spec handed to you
• You are an owner. You are autonomous, self-directed, and comfortable working with ambiguity
• Demonstrated experience building on LLMs in production: prompting, tool and function calling, retrieval, and agent workflows, along with the evaluation and guardrails that keep them reliable
• Strong command of relational databases and SQL, including schema design, query optimization, and modeling data that other systems and teams build on top of
• Hands-on experience deploying and running production services on GCP or an equivalent cloud stack
• You thrive in fast-paced environments. You are high-intensity and care a lot about what you do, and you're ecstatic to work at a startup
• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a track record of shipping and operating production backend systems end to end
• Interest in corporate finance and capital markets is a strong plus. You will be automating against the workflows of a company that sells to investment professionals
• You are curious. You find joy in learning about AI, technology, and finance
• Track record of shipping high-quality software in unstructured, fast-moving environments with full autonomy from conception to deployment
• Strong TypeScript for backend services and APIs. Working proficiency in Java/Python or another second language is a plus
• You are ambitious. You have fun solving problems that others think are impossible
• Working knowledge of asynchronous patterns: queuing, background jobs, scheduling, retries and idempotency, and robust observability (logging, metrics, tracing)
• Demonstrated passion for AI agents and automation, evidenced by systems you have built rather than tools you have read about
• Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field

• Fluency integrating third-party APIs, including REST, webhooks, authentication, rate limits, pagination, and reconciling data across systems that were never designed to work together
