Fullstack Software Engineer

As a Fullstack Software Engineer, you'll work in a collaborative, agile environment, focusing on building high-quality web experiences using React and Python/Django. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement high-quality web experiences using React and Python/Django.
• Participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle, including entity-relationship modeling, solution architecture, implementation, testing, and iteration.
• Actively use AI tools as part of the workflow to challenge thinking and take ownership of AI-assisted outputs.

• Experience with a server-side web application language; Python/Django experience is strongly preferred
• 2+ years of software development experience and a demonstrated ability to own projects with increasing independence. Level will be determined based on experience and demonstrated proficiency
• Willingness to participate in in-person Nextdoor events such as trainings, off-sites, volunteer days, and team building exercises, as applicable to your location
• Ability to break down product requirements, collaborate on technical approaches, and implement maintainable solutions
• Interest in building relationships with teammates and contributing to Nextdoor’s culture
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong frontend fundamentals and experience with modern JavaScript and React. This is an important part of the role
• Experience with Storybook or other component-driven development practices is a plus
• Eagerness to explore and apply AI tools and emerging technologies to reimagine how work gets done
• Familiarity with SQL and developing across frontend and backend systems
• Experience building and shipping software in a production environment
• Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a dynamic environment
• Interest in contributing ideas and product perspective, not just executing predefined tasks
