Research Scientist (Map Scalability)

• Résoudre des problèmes de recherche fondamentaux et appliqués liés à la compréhension du monde en utilisant des modèles de langage de grande taille (VLM), la modélisation générative et la reconstruction 3D à grande échelle.
• Prototyper et itérer sur diverses idées de recherche en utilisant les données de conduite internes de Waymo, et mettre à l'échelle et à la production des solutions de compréhension du monde en collaboration avec les équipes d'ingénierie.
• Présenter les résultats de la recherche à un large public au sein de Waymo et d'Alphabet, avec la possibilité de publier les résultats à la communauté de recherche.

• Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, or in a similar discipline
• Strong ML software engineering skills in Python/C++ with an ability to rapidly prototype solutions
• Expert in either Foundational VLMs, Computer Vision or learning-based 3D reconstruction methods (3DGS, NeRF)
• 1-3+ years of experience in a related field
• Familiarity with major ML Frameworks (JAX, Tensorflow, Pytorch)
• Domain experience in the autonomous vehicle or simulation space
• Fundamentals in 3D vision and/or computer graphics
• Hands-on experience productionizing and scaling ML solutions beyond the research stage
• Publications at top-tier conferences like CVPR/ICCV/ECCV/ICLR/ICML/NeurIPS/IROS/CoRL etc
