Senior/Staff DevOps Engineer

Join our growing team as a Senior/Staff DevOps Engineer. In this role, you will design and implement infrastructure as code, manage and optimize Kubernetes clusters, develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate with development teams to provide effective infrastructure solutions. You will also plan and execute strategies for scaling infrastructure, optimize cloud resource usage, and automate repetitive tasks. • Collaborate with development teams to design and implement infrastructure as code using Pulumi and TypeScript.
• Manage and optimize Kubernetes clusters using Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) for application deployment, scaling, and monitoring.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using BuildKite to automate testing, building, and deployment processes.

• Proficiency in TypeScript for writing and maintaining infrastructure code
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and manage multiple priorities
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Honeycomb, Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK stack
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams
• Understanding of networking concepts and security best practices in cloud environments
• Proven experience with infrastructure as code, ideally using Pulumi
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Experience with CI/CD tools like BuildKite, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI
• Participate in on-call rotations during working hours to support production systems
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including cluster management and orchestration
• Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker
• Scripting skills in languages like Ruby, Python, and Bash
• Experience with database management and optimization
• Experience scaling Ruby on Rails applications
• Experience implementing security best practices to ensure compliance across the infrastructure
