Backend Engineer (Healthcare)

Join H1, a healthcare technology company, as a Backend Engineer. You will play a critical role in delivering scalable platform capabilities that power H1's products. You will work across modern cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and AI-enabled technologies, solving challenging technical problems at scale. You will contribute to the delivery of meaningful product capabilities across the full stack, develop and maintain APIs, backend services, and distributed microservice architectures, and support applications running in Kubernetes environments. This role is ideal for an engineer eager to deepen their knowledge of distributed systems and cloud-native development while building high-impact products that improve healthcare outcomes.

• Working knowledge of PostgreSQL, including database design, querying, and basic performance considerations
• Familiarity with Kafka or other event-driven messaging systems
• 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience building production-grade applications
• Exposure to Golang
• Experience with Python/PySpark or similar technologies for data processing workflows
• Hands-on experience with TypeScript and Node.js, with exposure to delivering customer-facing full-stack features
• Interest in or early experience building AI-powered applications or integrating LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic); familiarity with RAG architectures or frameworks such as LangChain or Vercel AI SDK is a bonus
• Exposure to Elasticsearch or similar search technologies
• Solid understanding of software fundamentals, including debugging, testing, and writing maintainable code
• Experience developing APIs, backend services, and/or microservices in a distributed systems environment
