Software Engineer (Billing & Monetization)

Join our Billing & Monetization Team as a Software Engineer in New York City. You'll design, build, and operate the systems that power monetization across our AI products. This role requires strong proficiency in Python, experience with cloud infrastructure, and a focus on correctness and reliability.

• Design, build, and operate the credit, metering, and billing systems that power monetization across our agentic AI products.
• Write high-quality, well-tested Python that runs reliably in production, where financial correctness, accuracy, and auditability matter.
• Partner closely with Product, Finance, and other Engineering teams to turn pricing and packaging decisions into robust technical implementation.

• Strong product sense; you can reason about the business and pricing needs behind what you build and make good tradeoffs
• Strong proficiency in Python and solid fundamentals in software architecture, distributed systems, and API design
• Experience building and operating services on cloud infrastructure, ideally Azure and/or GCP
• Minimum 4 years of experience as a software engineer building scalable, reliable, and high-quality software systems in production
• A seasoned user of AI development tools, with hands-on fluency in AI-assisted coding and agentic coding harnesses, and a track record of using them to ship better software faster
• Experience with relational and document databases, ideally Postgres and MongoDB, including data modeling and query performance
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-moving scale-up environment
• A track record of taking ownership and shipping
• A focus on correctness, reliability, observability, and maintainability, especially where accuracy matters
• Familiarity with monetizing AI or agentic products, including token or usage metering and cost attribution
• Experience integrating with payment providers, billing platforms, ERP and financial systems
• Experience working in startups or scaleups
• Understanding of financial correctness concerns such as idempotency, reconciliation, auditability, and revenue recognition
• Experience building billing, metering, payments, or monetization systems, ideally involving usage-based or credit-based pricing
• Hands-on experience with agentic tools, LLMs, and model orchestration in production
• Experience in fintech, audit technology, or document-intensive workflows
• Strong understanding of testing strategies and engineering quality practices
• Experience with observability and monitoring tools
