Job Description

Join Omnidian, a rapidly growing company in the clean energy sector, as a Controller. In this role, you will drive the vision for the accounting function, build scalable infrastructure, and lead a team of 4-8. You will interface daily with the CFO, FP&A, Engineering, Legal, and business leaders across Sales, Product, and Operations. Your responsibilities will include financial reporting and close, audit, compliance and controls, systems and AI enablement, and team and cross-functional leadership.

  • You embrace AI and new methods as a genuine competitive advantage
  • Direct, urgent, and able to translate technical accounting complexity into clear decisions for non-accounting leaders
  • Energized by ownership and autonomy — you want to build something, run it, and lead a team that's proud of what Accounting stands for
  • You are technically excellent, build genuine relationships across the business, and see accounting not as a reporting function but as a strategic enabler of growth
  • A systems thinker who builds for scale, not just for today
  • A relationship builder who earns trust with business partners through rigor and accessibility
  • Experience managing and developing accounting teams
  • 12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role
  • A track record of building systems that scale in a high-growth, multi-entity environment
  • Active CPA license
  • Proficiency with NetSuite and advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills
  • Strong US GAAP expertise: consolidations, intercompany transactions, revenue recognition under ASC 606, and international subsidiary accounting
  • Audit experience in a Big 4 or national firm environment
  • Experience at a Series B–D company that went through a significant transaction — M&A, PE investment, debt raise, IPO, or similar — and understands what transaction-ready books actually require under due diligence conditions
  • Background in service-based, field operations, or tech-enabled service businesses (electrical contractors, field service, SaaS, or similar)
  • Experience in clean energy, renewables, or sustainability-focused businesses
  • Hands-on experience with AI tools and automation in accounting workflows — not theoretical, but actually implemented
  • International accounting experience (Australia or other English-speaking jurisdictions a plus)
