Financial Controller

Your scope of work As Financial Controller Specialist at MediaMarkt, you will play an important role in coordinating the budgeting and forecasting processes for the Benelux region. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and our headquarters in Germany to ensure accurate financial planning, reliable reporting, and alignment across the business.

Your main responsibilities include

Budgeting & Forecasting:

• Coordinate and support the budget and forecasting cycles for the Benelux region, collecting and consolidating input from various stakeholders across the business.

Financial Systems & Data Management

Ensure that budget and forecast figures for the P&L and Balance Sheet are accurately uploaded into the relevant systems, maintaining data consistency and alignment with agreed financial plans.

Stakeholder Management

Act as a key point of contact for budget and forecasting-related topics, following up with stakeholders to gather input, validate assumptions, and ensure timely delivery of financial information.

Headquarters Coordination

Maintain close contact with our headquarters in Germany regarding budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and related financial processes, ensuring alignment between local and group-level requirements.

Month-end Closing

Actively participate in the monthly closing process by preparing, analyzing, and reporting P&L results.

Financial Analysis

Analyze variances between actual results, budgets, and forecasts, identify key drivers, and share relevant insights with the controlling team and stakeholders.

Financial Reporting

Support the preparation of regular financial reporting packages for our headquarters in Germany, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.

Internal Controls

Maintain strong internal controls and ensure efficient daily, weekly, and monthly controlling routines.

Process Improvement

Identify opportunities to optimize budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes, and contribute to ad hoc financial analyses and projects.

Do you recognize yourself in this?

Then you’re a perfect fit for MediaMarkt! A bachelor's or master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. 2–4 years of relevant experience in financial controlling, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), or accounting.

Experience in retail, wholesale, or logistics is a plus. Strong Excel skills and experience working with financial models and reporting systems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

A proactive, solution-oriented attitude and a strong sense of responsibility. Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy under pressure. The flexibility to thrive in a dynamic environment with tight deadlines.
