Operations Manager

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of New Mexico is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to support the department’s administrative and clinical operations. This position plays a key role within the department serving as departmental human resources liaison, overseeing faculty services and administrative support, and supporting practice management processes and initiatives.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and problem-solver who can balance competing priorities, build effective working relationships, and develop processes that promote accountability, efficiency, and excellent service.

Duties include

• Lead departmental human resources operations, including staff recruitment and onboarding, performance management, timekeeping, HR transactions, and compliance with university policies and procedures.
• Oversee faculty services and administration, including faculty recruitment, onboarding, credentialing, licensing, annual reviews, and promotion and tenure.
• Supervise administrative support and IT functions, providing leadership to administrative staff and ensuring effective scheduling, meeting coordination, reception coverage, and day-to-day operational support.
• Support clinical practice management and assist the Sr. Med Practice Specialist in maintenance, tracking and management of departmental data tools and data sets, and assist in required follow-up on clinical documentation and related projects for optimal revenue capture.
• Promote employee engagement and workplace wellness by coordinating departmental events, supporting staff recognition and engagement initiatives, and fostering a positive, collaborative work environment.
• Working hours are Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm.
• Occasional early morning or evening hours may be required.
