Senior Registered Nurse

The Correctional Health Services Division is seeking to hire a Senior Registered Nurse to perform a full range of advanced and supervisory tasks for health programs or nursing assignments within Clinical Services at the Utah State Correctional Facility in Salt Lake City, Utah. The individual hired will exercise independent professional discretion based on licensure in general duty settings and clinical nursing settings for the Correctional Health Services Division. May also direct/supervise medical staff.

Ideal Candidate Two or more years as a Registered Nurse with at least one year of correctional healthcare experience Have strong supervisory and management skills Have the ability to coordinate clinical activities and follow-up. Have skill in directing staff assignments based on priority of care Have critical thinking skills in resolving clinical issues Understand triage principles and actions Be a positive motivator Have a solid understanding of principles, theories, and practices of nursing Have the ability to assess staffing needs and patterns; make appropriate staff assignments.
