Senior Data Scientist (Business Analytics)

Join Thumbtack as a Senior Data Scientist in Business Analytics. In this high-visibility role, you will drive insights and action across the marketplace, focusing on conversion and monetization. You will partner with the leadership team to develop company strategy and goals, share performance updates with the Board, and work across various departments to turn analysis into decisions. You will define, monitor, and report on key metrics, lead business performance analysis, conduct deep-dive analyses, support revenue forecasting, build and maintain dashboards, and strengthen the data culture within the company.

• 6+ years of experience in a highly analytical role, preferably in tech; experience in a marketplace or two-sided platform business is a plus
• Strong communication skills — an attentive listener and a compelling explainer across technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience with using AI to automate workflows and enable self-serve analytics
• Proficiency using SQL and Python or R to analyze large data sets
• Experience partnering with executives to understand business needs and drive decisions
• Exemplary analytical problem solving: a solid statistics foundation, strong business judgment, comfort navigating ambiguity, and the ability to synthesize insight from analysis
• Experience with revenue modeling and forecasting, ideally in a high-growth or public company environment
