Head of Finance

Join Nirvana Insurance Services (NIS) as the Head of Finance, where you'll be the financial owner of our commercial insurance MGA. In this high-impact, high-autonomy role, you'll oversee accounting, billing, and FP&A teams, and partner closely with cross-functional leaders. You'll be responsible for NIS's monthly, quarterly, and annual FP&A cycle, accounting close, revenue recognition, billing operations, reinsurance program economics, and financial oversight of subproducer and agency agreements. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

• Own NIS's monthly, quarterly, and annual FP&A cycle, including budget-vs-actual analysis and variance narrative.
• Oversee NIS's accounting close and revenue recognition for MGA commission income, ensuring compliance with ASC 606.
• Lead and manage a small team, providing guidance and support in accounting, billing operations, and financial planning.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify and articulate complex financial concepts to diverse stakeholders, from executives to operators
• Hands-on experience across both accounting and finance/FP&A inside an operating company of approximately 8 - 12 years
• ASC 606 revenue recognition experience, ideally with commission-based revenue models
• Detail-oriented and execution-focused, with the resilience to thrive in a high-performance, fast-paced setting
• Demonstrated outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable operating in an environment where entity structures and processes can be complex and navigating those challenges and building the future is energizing
• Hands-on operator: comfortable digging into the details with teams, implementing solutions, and iterating quickly — not just producing metrics or analysis
